A BRC-20 token is a new experimental token standard that enables the minting and transferring of fungible tokens via the Ordinals protocol on the Bitcoin blockchain. BRC-20 tokens are similar to Ethereum’s ERC-20 tokens, but they do not support smart contracts yet. This means that BRC-20 tokens are limited in their functionality, but they are also more secure.
